Good Friday Tenebrae Service

Friday

Apr 10

7:30 pm

Live Stream

You're invited to join us for our annual Tenebrae service on Good Friday.  The word "tenebrae" comes from the Latin meaning "darkness." This is a powerful service that makes use of gradually diminishing light to symbolize the events that occurred between the triumphant Palm Sunday entry through Jesus' burial. This increasing darkness symbolizes the approaching darkness of Jesus' death and of hopelessness in the world without God. You don't want to miss it!

27th Annual Chili-Cookoff

Saturday

May 2

5:00 pm

NHC Campus

What's it all about? The whole event is designed to help the New Heart Kids & Youth experience a life changing encounter at Christ-based camps this summer. Last year you helped raise over $2K to send our kids & youth to church camp through this event! On top of that, we all had an enormous amount of fun, while eating some crazy good chili and desserts.

We'll have games for the kids and ways to participate regardless of your financial situation. Take the challenge and bring a pot of your best chili (for the competition), your favorite dessert (for the auction), or just come to enjoy the tasty chili and great fellowship. Contact Alina Cardoza at (209) 483-0459 to enter your chili and/or dessert.

Elevate is a Church of the Nazarene event for youth (grades 7-12) in the USA Southwest Region (California, Arizona, Mexico, and Hawaii) to gather and worship, hear the Word preached, attend breakout sessions, participate in games and activities, and create new connections with other Christians.  Last year, we worshiped together in the Greek Amphitheater and celebrated what God has been doing in the lives of over 1400 participants.  We can't wait to see what God will do this year - we know it is going to be special!
